Chief Technology Officer

Our client is a fast growing organization, market leader in the Netherlands and has a global ambition. In order to reach this ambition our client’s business model is changed and the SaaS proposition has been made available not only for Corporate clients but also for SMB. This requires a senior, hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who can transform the organization towards operational excellence and can enable further growth. The CTO is part of the board together with the CEO and CFO. In addition to being ultimately responsible for the technical department, you are also responsible for the operating result and product impact.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the board and define with the other members of the board the product vision and executes the technology strategy.
• You create a clear IT vision and matching goals, you communicate these and you keep the IT department informed.
• You contribute to the connection between business and technology and you ensure that the decision-making process for technology runs efficiently.
• Successfully lead the IT department through the next stage of growth from a technology and engineering point of view. This includes leading the scale up and changes to the architecture which is service orientated, combined with monolithic parts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, cloud based applications, best practices and anticipate and react to major technology changes.
• Communicate the company’s technology strategy to investors, management, staff, customers.
• P&L responsible for the development team.

Skills and Qualifications

• Technical experience in SaaS architecture, design, development and security and good understanding of modern engineering processes.
• Strong business mind and can develop strategic product development plans.
• 7-10+ years of experience in product development management, managing multiple software engineering teams.
• Inspiring personality and experienced leader.
• Able to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Pragmatic and flexible, but able to make and communicate clear decisions.
