Manager Web Development
The Manager Web Development is responsible for the web teams at our client and will work closely with your peers responsible for the data and systems department. This is a leadership role requiring a true people manager. You will support and facilitate the work of the multidisciplinary development teams (15 engineers in total) and are responsible for coaching, hiring, guiding and growing your teams and individual employees.
Besides your day-to-day activities you will also drive projects concerning the whole IT department: i.e. setting up CI/CD; test automation; or continuously managing technical debt. The development manager takes place in the IT-management team and you are accountable to the board.
Together with your teams you are involved in drawing up the IT roadmap for your department, you are responsible for safeguarding the progress, detecting possible bottlenecks and impediments, and acting upon this. You advise and mentor colleagues proactively on technical and organizational aspects. You prioritize, make choices and you monitor the quality of your teams’ work. You initiate projects and look for consensus and broad support to realize and implement these projects. Also, you assure for an optimal collaboration between the IT department and the business and act as an Agile coach within the organisation.

You are pragmatic, technically well versed and you understand that with every technical decision a business requirements needs to be fulfilled. In this matter, you are able to translate technical trends into concrete IT solutions, and you actively look for cooperation with your colleagues.

Also, you are a person who is continually looking for new ideas and technologies and is focused on renewal and innovation. In addition you have:
- a bachelor or master degree in technical business administration, computer science or similar;
- a minimum of 5 years’ experience (as a team lead or manager) in the IT-industry;
- experience with working in an environment where scalability and performance are of high importance;
- knowledge of modern software development practices;
- experience working in an agile environment;
- excellent communication skills in English;
- several years of experience within a SAAS environment (plus);
- experience with micro services architecture (plus);
- communication skills in Dutch (plus).
